Family Consciousness And Cultural Space

In this paper, we will have an examination about a genealogy that is unsuccessful or moving towards succession, and describe the process of its codification. The specialized research about genealogy has become a more common topic in the discipline of history and social anthropology. Studies of genealogy in the perspective of history, is often based on the text of the existing literature, and display a frame process about genealogy written, which is characterized by one type of explanation;Then genealogy research in the field of social anthropology, is often digging details of the text from the behind and analyze the structural function of the family and clan that they root in. The specific content, in addition, are often related to symbolic ritual about family members, to show how all members of the family to share the “results”of a clan. This article attempts to get rid of the display and analysis in the past that only for "success stories". It is obviously that the traditional organization and concept of family is changing, and the power and authority of traditional family is transferring in the urbanization of traditional villages. And we will have a display that the genealogy as purely a kind of cultural phenomenon encounters in local situation when it is being written after the beginning of modern transformation in contemporary society. The main part of the article has three chapters. Respectively, Chapter II:Motivation and background about the genealogical writing. Chapter III: The forming genealogy text. Based on genealogy and related interviews text, the organization,planning, research and writing in the case of Young’s family in recent years are introduced. Chapter Ⅳ: Genealogy and family culture: village-wide cultural landscapes. These cultural traits in the case show as some particular landscapes,reflecting some obvious characteristics of the times.If there are still clan in the city and new rural society at this moment, we could express it as “post-clan form”. Because of the long-lasting effect of clan consciousness, dispersed people is trying to establish a link between the clan and family members in different regions. However, due to social and economic reasons or even that within the family, it will have to encounter difficulties and challenges from different aspects. This type of representation is in some way similar to the situation of traditional family, but these images come from the behind and base on experiences that have characteristics about this times and is dissimilar to the tradition.
