In twenty-first century, the world’s urban system research exhibits the new trend.Cities will be on interaction through exchange of material、energy、information and personnel etc. The continuous expansion of city with the accelerated process of China, the communication distance between cities is shortened. The population and economic exchange between cities become more frequent. Urban network is becoming a new urban spatial development paradigm. The network composed with the nodes of cities. The research of spatial structure steers the static description to dynamic description of present situation. The research of spatial structure steers the qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis.Based on the population、economy and distance, the data of year 2004、2008and 2012 between cities of the Yangtze River Delta core were gotten. Analyse the spatial characteristics of city spatial structure and evolution law of network in the Yangtze River Delta by searching with ARCGIS and UCINET software, while using the city foreign service capability model, gravity model, the maximum gravity connecting line, city general attraction model and the membership degree. The research can provide some sound basis for the optimization and integration of the spatial structure and strategy for economic development of the Yangtze River Delta. This is a supplement to the research on the spatial structure model of the Yangtze River Delta region by using comprehensive quality, which is based on the method of point, line, surface binding. The research on urban network are divided into transportation, enterprises, information and economic network research. Finally, compared with different conclusions to integration the study of city network in Yangtze River Delta.Through the research, this paper gets the following conclusions:(1)Shanghai has a strong space dominace that other city has a high dependence on it. The third industry has strong ability of external radiation. Shanghai is regarded as the center in Yangtze River Delta. Now Suzhou has the most closely connected with Shanghai. Shanghai has more radiation to Jiangsu province than Zhejiang province. However, the membership of Shanghai is shrinking while the connection is growing, and this shows the attraction to other city of Shanghai is in weakening.(2)The important nodes in Jiangsu province mainly distribute in SouthernJiangsu and Middle Jiangsu, especial Suzhou and Wuxi. The influence of Nangjing is enhancing.Changzhou’s radiation capacity has weakened. Middle Jiangsu has a remarkable development. Northern Jiangsu, where has more dependence on other city, has a larger space for development.(3)The important nodes in Zhejiang province mainly distribute in Northern Zhejiang and Eastern Zhejiang, especial Ningbo Jiaxing and Hangzhou. The influence of Ningbo is enhancing. Jiaxing’s radiation capacity has weakened. Eastern Zhejiang has a remarkable development. Western Zhejiang, where has more dependence on other city, has a larger space for development.(4)It is found that Shanghai is the dominant center and Nanjing 、 Suzhou 、Wuxi 、 Hangzhou and Ningbo are the important nodes of the network through comparative analysis. In general, the city network has regional differences in Yangtze River Delta. The city network structure optimized gradually. The city spatial structure has shown densification and regional geogrephical features.
