| Nowadays the integration of world economy and knowledge, as well as the globalization gradually stimulates the development of the internationalization of Chinese higher education industry. In this process, different regions in China adopt different development modes according to their unique characteristics. Take Yunnan Province as an example. Its location has given it the unique feature – underdeveloped area, border and minority location, being far from the core cities China but close to the Southeast Asia and South Asia. Recently, the communication in higher education between Yunnan province and South Asia and Southeast Asia has been much more frequent, directly promoting its internationalization process. Therefore, the research topic of this paper on the performance evaluation model of the internationalization of higher education in Yunnan provincial universities has significant practical meaning and guidance function for its development of internationalization of higher education.At first, the author gave a brief literature review on the status and development trend of the internationalization of higher education and performance evaluation at home and abroad. Meanwhile, an overall look of current concept of this field was given to complete its background knowledge.Second, the author teased the development stages of the internationalization of higher education in China and in developed countries, overviewed the most representative evaluation index system, and built the unique performance evaluation index system of the higher education internationalization in Yunnan provincial universities under the principle of more than 50% of generality in each index system.Third, this article chose the grey target evaluation model to conduct the research.The system structure includes: the proportion of students going abroad for exchange studies(R1), the proportion of overseas students(R2), the number of teachers aboard dispatch(R3), the proportion of foreign teachers(R4), the number of overseas universities in international communication relationship(R5), the number ofinternational scientific cooperative projects(R6), the number of countries and areas in international communication relationship(R7), the proportion of academic papers included in the three biggest indexes(R8), and so on. Meanwhile, the author improved the weaknesses of the grey target model, same weight of different indexes,through CRITIC objective weighting approach and then built the performance evaluation index system of the higher education internationalization in Yunnan provincial universities.In the last part, the author conducted the test of the built system. The original data was retrieved from the data collection and investigation of 24 Yunnan provincial universities and was checked in final system. The result was identical to the real standard of performance of the higher education internationalization in Yunnan provincial universities, which illustrated the reliability and validity of the performance evaluation index system of the higher education internationalization in Yunnan provincial universities built by the author.The innovation points of this article mainly include three parts: 1. From the perspective of view: Now although the research in the higher education internationalization is diversified, but relevant ones in performance evaluation index system of the higher education internationalization in Yunnan provincial universities are rare. Therefore, the author focuses on performance evaluation index system of the higher education internationalization in Yunnan provincial universities, which is relatively innovative. 2. From the perspective of evaluation index system: Through the comparison and analysis of current performance evaluation index systems, the author built a complete evaluation system including 8 indexes. 3. From the perspective of evaluation model: This article used the grey target model to analyze the object, and improved this model with CRITIC objective weighting approach the get the final result. |
