With the continuous progress of the reform of basic education, comparative study of is also increasing. However, the comparison of domestic and foreign materials is mainly focused on US, UK and Japan, as a beautiful island in the South Pacific, New Zealand’s education system has been widely recognized by the world, through comparing and researching the physics textbooks of China and New Zealand, hoping to help the construction of our physics textbooks. From the structure of physical materials, textbooks presentation this article has compared both China and New Zealand’s physical textbooks, curriculum standards of the two countries and the physical assessment methods are briefly analyzed. In comparison with our materials I think that New Zealand’s textbooks are more substantial in terms of the content but the knowledge is not very difficult, and their knowledge structures are much the same on deferent levels, the depth of content is rising spirally; on the other hand our materials are more diversified in column setting while New Zealand’s is relatively simple. Text description:written expression in New Zealand’s textbooks is more lively, friendly and anthropomorphic while ours pays more attention to scientific rigor; illustration selection: our textbooks have a rich source of the illustration and New Zealand’s are mainly comics illustrations; mathematical language: we focus on derivation of formula, while New Zealand’s gives formula directly and with its unique triangular relationship to help students remember the deformation of formula. This paper has a certain reference value for both our physical textbook writers and users.
