Habit, cultivated in certain experiences, is a kind of unconscious, relatively stable mindset and behavior inertia that formed in daily life, study and work. When people are handling problems, “Habit” has effects on people’s response before action. Impact of habits can be seen everywhere in our life. It affects people’s behaviors and thoughts all the time. In fact, life is the aggregation of habits. However, people tend to neglect the negative impact of bad habits and ascribe all results, good or bad, to their habits. Even though they may realize their habits are bad,they find it hard to change. Formed through constant repeat of certain behaviors, habits are the memory and projection of people’s experiences. Similarly, it also requires repeat of connections and practices to change a habit. Individuals are able to choose to form habits as they want. Only through constant practice and exercise can people cultivate their good habits.When we introduce “habit” into education, we refer to educational habits of teachers, which are similar with “habits” in the broad sense. The mentality and feelings of teachers are usually projected through their habits in daily life, which is the most basic and easiest way to know a person. Educational habits exist in teachers’ daily work and life and have uncontrollable impact on their behavior. Based on reflection on the reality of education, the writer thinks that it is a indisputable fact that habits exist in education and teachers needs to cultivate necessary educational habits. What needs our attention is that educational habit is a double-edged sword in that it is not always positive and its stability, to a large extent, impede the realization of education reform. Today utilitarianism in education leads to the formation of teachers’ examination-oriented education habit. This kind of educational habit results in rigid thinking and behaviors of teachers and students and affects the healthy development of them.Changes on teachers’ educational habits would eventually depend on self-renewal. It requires teachers to build their sense of self-renewal, give full play to their principal status and get to know their own educational habits actively and positively change their bad educational habits, which has incomparable advantage against external rules and regulations. There are individual differences in educational habits of teachers, each with educational habits that vary tremendously. Self-renewal of educational habits requires that teachers should have awareness and neediness and put it into action. Teachers should implement and develop their predominant position and role in educational habit, taking advantage of conditions and assistance provided by other teachers around, schools and society, to realize their renewal and self-development.Firstly, this study will analyze the necessity of renewal of teachers’ educational habits. The writer will determine the subject and direction of this study from three aspects, bad educationalhabits of teachers affecting healthy development of teachers and students, renewal of teachers’ educational habits being a requirement of teacher professional development, changes on educational habit to be implemented in self-renewal; secondly, grounded on studying a large number of documentary materials, the writer will make analysis and summary on “Habit” and“Educational habits of teachers”, and comb the connotation, characteristic, correlation and constituent elements of teachers’ educational habits. At the same time, the writer will state patterns of teachers’ educational habits, including good educational habits and bad educational habits, based on which the writer will have own understanding and opinions on educational habits; finally, the writer will pertinently put forward some targeted suggestions to teachers’ educational habits from aspects of teachers and schools in hope that these suggestions will attract teachers’ attentions on their educational habits and promote the self-renewal of teachers’ educational habits and implementation healthy development of teachers and students.
