Entered in twenty-first Century, along with the civilization of the whole society becomemore and more, school education should be "people-oriented" is also the voice of theincreasingly strong. Today’s education pays more attention to promote the student’s personalitydevelopment, want to build innovative talents. In addition Chinese years of one-child policyleads to the birth rate slowed down, the number of school-age children has shrunk phenomenonappears that small class teaching has become the inevitable trend of the development of basiceducation in china. Small class teaching is not simply from the form will be class size cuts,more important is the amount due to a series of quality of narrowing the class brought about bythe ascension, such as rich teaching resources, diversification of teaching methods, teachingprocess refinement etc.. Small class teaching to better promote the interaction between teachersand students, take care of the individual differences, to better promote the overall developmentof each student. Can say, the small class implementation level is an important symbol of thelevel of education modernization, is the important breakthrough point in the current schoolreform.This study is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the reason, researchissues of purpose, significance, object, methods and the research condition at home and abroad.The second chapter, based on the analysis of the domestic and foreign research results, in theeducational theory of constructivism, multiple intelligence theory, humanistic learning theoryand other solid support theory research, discusses the concept and characteristics of small classteaching. The third chapter the author through the practical teaching in small classes of highschool biology teaching practice research, discusses the cooperative, independent learning andmentoring effective teaching strategy in guiding the small class teaching. The fourth chapter ofthe application of high school biology teaching strategies on small sums up the achievementsand also puts forward reflection. The fifth chapter is the conclusion.Research on the theory and practice of the research is based on the comparison of smallclass teaching, teaching and small class teaching due to differences in the number of studentscaused attention degree and teaching activities, summarizes the small class teaching in promoting students’ personality development and at the same time in cooperation, inquiry, self-learning of the superiority and the existence question and the the direction of development.Thus laid a foundation for the more fully the advantage of small class teaching.
