Concept teaching has always been the focus of high school chemistry teaching, andthe teaching strategies and methods of study has never stopped.The condition that the lawsof the construction in the process of students’ development tend to be ingored is usual inthe traditional concept teaching. In order to improve the application of the concept ofteaching strategies and the use of specific methods, this article attempts to combineeffective teaching concept of constructivism with teaching benefit together throughapplication of the mind map in the teaching.It is believed according to research analysis that the use of mind mapping as ateaching tool not only can help teachers find the former scientific concept existing in thestudents and promote students to construct meaning of scientific concept, but also helpestablish the logical relationship between concepts. This study constructs the general modewhich can be applied to chemistry concept teaching,based on the characteristics oftheconcept of using mind map and drawing method,including:(1) stated topic, stimulate theold knowledge;(2) personal drawing, manifest the old knowledge;(3) according to the oldknowledge, design new teaching;(4) fine processing, mine connotation;(5) fixedcomplement, perfect the mind map;(6)concept application, solve the problem;(7)linkingconcept, perfect construction etc. Mind mapping can undertake different variants amongthe three aspects ofthe note-taking, problem solving and language forming, in order toimprove the using effect in different situation.To test the practical advantages in chemical concepts teaching, this study is carriedout using a mind map teaching practice research by choosing the concept group of amountof substance.Studies have found that using the mind map can improve students’understanding the relationship between concepts and the nature of the concept factors,and can improve the students’ grades.This study only focuses on the preliminary study of concept teaching to which themind map is applied,and it is far from perfect in terms of the combination of differentteaching ideas and education concept.In addition, it is only by the synchronization ofconcepts related to teaching and research that the universal application of mind maps canachieve better results.
