Gradually carried out along with the foundation education reform, the implementation project of teaching method and the teaching process are the key points that the front-line teacher studies. But the research on editorial theory of the teaching material is not so many, particularly the systemative comparison between excellent primary school teaching material in the history with the current primary school language teaching material, both on the same Chinese subject, much fewer the specialized study on this issue. But the teaching material is the important supporter for the teachers to teach the knowledge and the students to learn it. Thus, it has a direct and important function in the whole teaching procedure.This thesis mainly compares the textbook named Kaiming Chinese Language with the primary Chinese teaching material published by the People’s Education Press. While grasping their editorial characteristics respectively, try to analysize the similarities and differences between the two. The key point will focus on the modules of choosing the learning passages, the layout, the training, and the illustrations with an aim to find out the differences between the two sets of teaching materials and the deficiency for the current primary school language teaching material. By using the advantage of the Kaiming version for reference, summarize the thought/thinking on the layout of the primary Chinese teaching material and put forward some suggestions on choosing the learning passages, the layout, the training, and illustrations so that some references and theoretical support will be provided when the current primary school language teaching material is to be published in the future.
