| Physics model, as a useful teaching way and learning method, has won wide recognition by teachers for its effectiveness. However, in the field of biology model, little research has been done about how to teach students to make a better physics model which is more suitable for teaching. Besides, a small number of research has studied the effect homemade physics model has on the construction of students’ biological concepts. Taking the unit "molecular and cellular" in module one as the research object, this essay is intended to explore the effect homemade physics model on senior high school students’ construction of concept. The research content includes the influence physics model bring on student’s study enthusiasm, manipulative ability, and the desire of participation. What’s more, physics model teaching and routine teaching are compared in this study from the aspect that how they affect students’ biology concept respectively.In this study, homemade physics model is taken as the independent variable, while the score which can reflect students’ mastery of knowledge is the dependent variable. In the experimental class, homemade physics models are implemented in teacher’s teaching and students’ learning. In control class, students are taught by the traditional lecture teaching method. According to the actual situation and students’ different levels of cognitive objectives, various physics models of productions are made to construct their concepts. Investigations and interviews are made in the experiment. Preliminary result shows that physics model is useful in promoting students’ construction of knowledge structure, improving the transformation of wrong concepts, and further improving the students’ grades. Physics model is beneficial in the process of achieving the goal of the new curriculum, and it provides necessary guidance and help for students to learn biology and other disciplines too. |
