Thematic course website which is launched by Intel Teach to the Future as a series of network learning platform, provides a wealth of educational resources for the global teacher training, and it can help teachers skillfully get information technology into actual classroom. However, after i took part in the localization of Intel Teach to the Future thematic curriculum projects, as well as i researched and analyzed users of the site, i found that there are some problems what are related to information organization and interaction settings, navigation design and retrieve copy, etc in the website, and these factors can affect the user’s learning efficiency, so that it can not lead to efficient use of special courses in the curriculum during training site, resulting in not efficient use of thematic course website in the process of curriculum training. Therefor, how to optimize special courses website design to improve website usability and improve the user’s learning experience is now an urgent problem.Information Architecture includes organizational systems, navigation systems, identification and retrieval systems, through these four components are designed to help the site to build a reasonable information structure, and provide a clear navigation path and information services, and give the site users good network information environment, to promote their understanding of website information, and effective access to the information. Therefore, this study aimed at the problems in the thematic course website, using the theory of information architecture of related technologies and methods, optimize the website design. The main work includes:first, based on the existing literature on the information architecture and the Intel Teach to the Future research status are briefly described; secondly study the status of special courses website,focuses on the shortcomings and the reasons for the existence of the site; once again discussed the theory of information architecture in the design optimization of thematic courses website; then based on information theory, to optimize the design of the website from three aspects including organizational systems, navigation systems and retrieval systems; finally show the process and results achieved in thematic course website.Studies have shown that, after optimization design of thematic courses website through information architecture,it can more reflect the information structure and logic relations of courses in the organization system, and target to design deliberated problems to improve the interaction enthusiasm of users; in the navigation system, navigation settings is prominent, and the path is clear, it allows users to find and use navigation easily; in the retrieval system, it allows users to copy and retrieve any course information, and to expand easily.Innovation point of this research lies in:on the one hand, in the Intel Teach to the Future studies, firstly attempt to apply the theory of information architecture to optimized design thematic course site, enriching the research in the field; on the other hand, use the information architecture theory to optimize thematic course website, and made a optimization design scheme for thematic course website, it has reference value in future optimization for thematic course website.
