At present, the students of Chinese in Thailand demonstrate the trend of younger age. To adapt to this trend, among the teachers who are sent to Thailand from China, many of them are teaching infants. But the Chinese teaching for infants starts late, the summaries on practical experience of teachers are little, and theories which can in deed guide Chinese teaching for infants are not mature. So throughout the present studies, the study on this field is lagging, not only practical,.but also theoretical. As a result, voulunteer teachers must summarize experience from experience from practice,design reasonable, effective and interesting classroom activities aiming at the charcacteristics of infants.By means of analysing the present situation of Chinese teaching for infants, combined with author’s four-month internship experience in the kindergarten of Thewarak School, based on the relative theories of infant psychology, preschool education and vocabulary teaching researches on Chinese teaching in TCSOL, for infants at home and abroad, this paper positions Chinese teaching for infants as the enlightenment of interest, and the teaching of thematic vocabulary. According to this, the paper delves into the question of "what to teach in the teaching of Chinese for young infants", and put forward the idea of "thematic vocabulary teaching" around the point. Simultaneously, by the show and analysis of the classroom teaching of her own, the author wants to offer some new thought and reference.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part mainly introduces the reason of the chosen subject, the purpose, meaning, objects, methods of the research, and the review of researches on Chinese teaching for infants at home and abroad and thematic Chinese teaching, as the introduction. The second part determines the basis of themetic vocabulary teaching for infants, by analysing the characteristics of infants, the concepts of themetic Chinese teaching, and introducing the situation of Chinese teaching, the position and importance of Chinese teaching for infants in Thailand. The third part eventually determines the content of Chinese thematic vocabulary teaching for infants according to the teaching objectives and principles. Combined with the author’s internship teaching experience in Thailand, the forth part describes and analyzes the practical situation of teaching. At last part, some existing problems are brought up and many suggestions for improvement are given.
