With the development of China's economy and the improvement of the comprehensive national strength,the number of people all over the world to learn Chinese is increasing gradually.Chinese learners have a tendency of younger age,and more and more infants begin to learn Chinese.However,currently,there is not much research on teaching Chinese as a foreign language for the infants.In recent years,most private kindergartens in Thailand have started to offer Chinese classes.Due to the infants' physiological,psychological and cognitive characteristics,the second language learning of them is different from that of adolescents and adults.For this particular group,we need to make special teaching plans and teaching contents as well as using appropriate teaching methods.The author integrated the classroom activities suitable for the infants into the thematic teaching during the internship at the Saint-Maria School in Minburi,Thailand.This thesis analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of classroom activities in the infants' Chinese thematic teaching with specific teaching cases,and puts forward the concerns when selecting the classroom activities as well as how to choose the appropriate classroom activities for the infants with the aim to provide some new thinking and reference for everyone during the process of teaching Chinese for the infants.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,mainly introducing the reason of selecting this subject,the purpose and significance of the research,the research objects and methods,and the research overview concerning teaching Chinese for the infants;the second part introduces the school,the teaching object,and the difficulties in teaching as well as how to solve them;the third part discusses the classroom activities design model in the thematic teaching conducts and the four teaching cases according to this model,and analysis the teaching cases.The fourth part analyzes the problems existing in the design of classroom activities.The fifth part summarizes and analyzes the contents and results of Chinese final examination for the infants at the end of the term.In addition,it makes some suggestions for selecting classroom activities during the process of teaching Chinese for the infants,and puts forward the problems which teachers should pay attention to during the course of teaching Chinese for the infants in the future.
