Private education as a supplementary part of higher education, not only provides the opportunity to receive higher education for our students, but also makes contributions to the development and construction of the country. We strengthen the supervision and management of private universities and improve the quality of education to expand the education resources, promote the realization of educational fairness and also to provide personnel for socialist construction. Teachers are required to strengthen their own learning and research and constantly improve the level of teaching and the quality of their own in order to improve the quality of education and teaching. To verify the quality of education and teaching, the establishments of teaching evaluation system are required, especially for the private colleges and universities. Because of its school running funds borne entirely by the school, the teachers’ strength is limited; it is difficult to guarantee the teaching level, which requires more on the quality of teaching and teaching evaluation.Teaching includes classroom teaching and practice teaching in two aspects. This study lies in the practice of teaching in private colleges and universities through questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire survey sample included 65 teachers and 200 students, the investigation of the dimensions involved in teaching evaluation, teaching system, teaching content, teaching evaluation criteria and evaluation methods and means, teaching evaluation, teaching evaluation of the role of attitude, teaching evaluation result feedback and use etc. According to the survey results, there are some problems and shortcomings in the teaching evaluation process of private schools:(1) The teacher teaching evaluation purpose are biased;(2) The teacher teaching evaluation system is not perfect;(3) Teaching evaluation is relatively simple;(4) Teaching evaluation system is not reasonable. 5) Teaching evaluation feedback is not timely. In this study, the causes of these problems are analyzed. The study provides practical strategies to improve teachers’ teaching assessment, including: strengthening teachers’ work for the purpose of education evaluation knowledge and understanding, establishing teaching evaluation system construction, establishing a diversified education evaluation method, improving the teaching evaluation system, strengthening the degree of attention to the feedback of teaching evaluation.
