With the impelling of pluralism of economic system, private higher education has got arapid development and begin to show its charm. Under the background of intense competitionamong private institutions, sustainable development is becoming a key point to survive andteaching staff is a critical factor. With the expansion of private higher education, youngteaching staff are becoming the main force and will be the backbone and fresh force in the futureof private institutions. The quality of young teachers plays a very important role in the teachingstaff and teaching quality, and they will have much influence on the teaching staff as well asthe students’ ability and capability. In this sense, to improve the young teaching staff’ quality andcompetency is of great importance to sustainable development for the private higher institutions.Five parts are included in this article. Part one gives the background, study significance, thecurrent study status abroad and at home, study method and so on; Part two gives the specificatedefinitions related to young teaching staff’s training as well as some theories relevant in theprocess of teachers’ improvement such as speciality theory, life-long education theory, HRexploitation theory, career plan theory. In the third part, by taking the example of ShandongXiehe University, questionnaire and data analysis will be employed to conclude the problemsexisted in the training for teachers in private institutions from aspects of government,collegesand teaching staff itself. The problems are as follows, firstly, poor assistance from governmentleads to less chances of training for teachers; secondly,it is weak effect of training because ofinsufficient emphasis and plan, incomplete system and method, and small money support; thirdly,it is negative attitude of teachers towards training due to their poor knowledge about training,heavy teaching load and less spare time, as well as inferior sense of belonging. In the fourthpart, by taking the example of Shandong Xiehe University, questionnaire and data analysis willbe employed to conclude the problems existed in the training for teachers in privateinstitutions.In the last part, as per the actual conditions of private institutions, the author will tryto find a realistic method for training,and then to conclude a complete system with the purpose ofimproving the teaching ability and quality in private colleges to ensure the high quality andcompetence of students. The following efforts should be taken, government shall put moreemphasis and complete measures to highlight private colleges; private institutions may put muchmore money and attention, optimize training content, develop multiple training, and completetraining system to improve the level of teaching staff; teachers are supposed to take a positiveattitude towards training to get a outmost effect from training.
