| For today’s society, the impact of technology on human’s daily life is becoming more and more profound. Understanding technology and having technological literacy are becoming indispensable to modern people’s basic quality. In order to better enhance the technological literacy of citizens, the world set off a new round of technology education reform.In China, the technology disciplines as a developing discipline, urgently needs some technology educational ideologyy to provide guidance. In the history of Western technology educational ideologyy, Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Dewey, Whitehead and other technology education thinker, emerged from 18th century to the early 20th century, they revealed the general, fundamental and regular things of technology education which could provide theoretical support and practical guides for our country’s technology deucation.Based on this, this study attempts to take the historical materialism as the guidance. In the second technological revolution node is divided into two parts:the technology educational ideology from 18th century to the begining 19th century and the technology educational ideology from late 19th century to early 20th century. In the late 19th century to at the beginning of the 20th century western technology education with emphasis on technology education in basic education; pays more attention to the connection of technology education and social life; emphasize the technology curriculum and other curriculum links; follow the stage and continuity of physical and mental development of students; pay attention to the cultivation of teachers.In this study, based on the 18th to the beginning of the 20th the Western ideas of education researches concluded that during this period:technical education ideas began to form a special research field; the emergence of a large number of technology educator, such as naturalism, pragmatism and so on; technical education thinkers begin to value and explore the rule of technology education, influence the development of technical education and occupation education.
