Children Father Role Perception Study

The main purpose of this research is to explore the current situation of father's role perception and the related factors that influence it . The content of this research is to explore the current condition of the role perception in functional role, emotional role and educational role, and analyze the different role perception condition in different variables such as that in children (sex), that in family background (family type,vacation, educational background). Based on the theory, the author has had the practical study, which is including the two parts:1,Formulation of the questionnaire:A qualitative inquiry in Shang hai explored the question of how preschooles'father view the role of fathers.Role perception were gatherd from a total 24 father and mather of toddlers. We get the contnent of the paternal role perception.The result was: providing financial support,"being there"for the child, providing routine care giving, engaging in play, outings and activities, serving as teacher, role model, and discipli- narian, providing love and affection, and serving as a protector.2,This study is conducted with the investigation method,which utilizes"paternal Role Perception Scale.The subjects in this study are father of kindergartens, in Shang Hai County, sampled with clustering method.We got 516 effective questionnaires retrieved and conduct the descriptive statistics,The main findings of this study are as the followings:(1),We get the contnent of the paternal role perception.(2),The score of the maternal role perception is higher than the average scale score, which has the degree as the following: functional role perception>emotional role perception> educational role perception.(3),Paternal role perception varies significantly in terms of children's educational stage, family-career tendency, family type, social economic status, social support, and number of the children.(4),Different academic and professional perception of the role of the father: the father of the role of different academic perception of three dimensions, the functional between the different qualifications mean no significant difference, educational, emotional and in terms of qualifications, there was a significant difference ; different occupations of the father the role of perception of three dimensions, the average no difference between the different academic, educational, emotional, and instrumental career average of at least two significant differences .
