With the rapid development of computer technology, Algorithm thinking has gradually become a kind of mathematical that a modern people should have. And studies of algorithm teaching at home and abroad has become a hot topic in the field of mathematics education. In 2003 China promulgated the "ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standard(Experiment)" for the first time "algorithm preliminary" as a new content added to the mathematics curriculum of ordinary high school compulsory 3, And demanded that algorithm ideas should throughout the whole high school mathematics learning. This undoubtedly makes in-service teachers of mathematics or pre-service mathematics teachers ushered in the new challenges. As going into a new generation of professional teachers, mathematics pre-service teachers, understanding of "algorithm preliminary" knowledge influences the speed and the success or failure of the new mathematics curriculum reform. This paper mainly through the way of questionnaire and interview of mathematics pre-service teachers of "algorithm preliminary" knowledge has carried on the investigation and study. The research focuses on three main issues:①;Observe the level of the mathematics pre-service teachers’ understanding of "algorithm preliminary" knowledge;②Whether the mathematics pre-service teachers on "algorithm preliminary" knowledge and understanding level have differences between groups?;③ Summarized mathematical pre-service teachers’ understanding of "algorithm preliminary" knowledge of the major mistakes, trying to promote mathematical pre-service teachers given knowledge understanding of strategy and teaching advice. Mainly from the history of concept and characteristics, the algorithm, algorithm block diagram, the statement, "algorithm preliminary teaching requirements" five aspects the algorithm of pre-service teachers of mathematics knowledge to investigate, analysis the following conclusions:(1) Overall, pre-service mathematics teachers’ concept of algorithm and characteristics, the history of these two dimensions algorithm of knowledge is not very good, especially the algorithm s knowledge know very little. First is the part of mathematics pre-service teachers to understand the concept of the algorithm is not thorough, secondly, mathematical pre-service teachers less attention to historical facts to the history of mathematics.(2) Mathematical pre-service teachers algorithm block diagram and statements of the two dimension algorithm knowledge or better, in spite of this, there are some mathematical cycle control conditions of pre-service teachers of loop structure there exist deviations in understanding. And for this kind of problem mathematical pre-service teachers still need to further strengthen.(3) Because mathematics pre-service teachers’ teaching experience, so for the "preliminary" algorithm teaching knowledge is generally less demand this dimension, hope pre-service mathematics teachers in future education can gradually improve their teaching career.(4) Mathematics pre-service teachers "algorithm preliminary" knowledge in different groups, there are still differences between groups in both the undergraduate and graduate student groups.Finally, combined with previous research and analysis, this paper puts forward some Suggestions. First, strengthen the pre-service teachers’ mathematics learning; Second, normal universities appropriate additional training the pre-service teachers’ ability of mathematics curriculum; Third, improve math pre-service teachers’ teaching ability. Hope for pre-service mathematics teachers’"algorithm preliminary" knowledge and the development of normal colleges and universities curriculum, teacher training and so on to provide a valuable reference.
