The modern society is an information era. The widespread use of computers has penetrated into all aspects of people’s lives. Grasping certain elementary knowledge of algorithm and the basic thought of algorithm are one of the basic literacy for each eligible citizen. In order to adapt to the need of the time, our country in April2003promulgated "ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standard"(experimental) which clearly put forward that algorithm content should be introduced into the high school mathematics (required three)."Preliminary Algorithm" is the new curriculum teaching material of high school mathematics. The contents of the algorithm are at the beginning stage, which is different from the traditional mathematics knowledge of high school. So "algorithm for preliminary" puts forward new challenges for teachers, students and the writers of teaching materials. Since2004, the implementation of new curriculum reform was exerted. But the actual teaching effect of algorithm is not ideal. So how to improve the teaching effect becomes a problem of algorithm to be solved.This study starts with the current teaching situation of algorithm in order to find problems about algorithm. On the other hand, the study combines preliminary algorithm from other four different versions of textbooks by comparative analysis and complement each other and seeks to reorganize algorithm. Finally, the study shows that teaching experiments will verify the actual teaching effect.Specific research work embodies in the following aspects:The first part of this paper introduces the background, research topics and research significance. The second part states the origin and meaning, the features and methods of algorithm. Using the method of literature analyze the related research achievements at home and abroad to obtain the successful experience from the research.The third part expounds the idea of this study and the research method of design.The fourth part uses questionnaires and interviews to get to know about the current situation of the teaching about algorithm. The fifth part apply physical analysis to analyze four different versions of "algorithm preliminary" textbook from five aspects, such as, layout sequence, teaching contents, examples, exercises, setting, and the integration of information technology and the comparative analysis, to prepare for reorganizing teaching contents of experimental algorithm teaching.The sixth part puts the reorganized teaching materials for algorithm into practice. And the experiment results show:reorganized textbooks combining with four---version "algorithm of preliminary" help to improve the teaching efficiency of algorithm.The final part of this study summaries the disadvantages and puts forward the corresponding proposals for teachers, teaching material writers and curriculum standard makers.
