In recent years, the State and the society’s attention on rural early childhood education continues to rise, and the rural childhood becomes a top priority. In the village of Z, it often heard some parents praising "the other children", and "the other kids" always are cute, sensible obedient, good learning and have a bright future. This caused my thinking that:in the eyes of parents, what children can be called good children? How do they feel about their children? Which kind of children do they want to make?... Therefore, my focus was put on the rural parents on parenting ideas. The concept of parenting refers to the views or opinions held by parents about the child care, early childhood development, education and ways in the course of education and upbringing.Parenting is the internal basis and foundation, and it is the core element of family education, and it has great significance on children development. In Z village, I look for 31 parents of 0-6 ages children for main research objects, including parents and grandparents. The research method was qualitative study, through depth interview and observation, trying to understand and render status of the parental concept in Z village, and trying to discuss its effect factors behind of the status, and targeted to propose some suggestions to improve the parental concept and to promote children’growth in family. This article can be called a working report of this study, seeks to fully show the overall research process. The article totally has five departments. The first part mainly introduced the research origin, the concept of parenting, the related literature reviewed and the purposes and meaning of the research. The second part mainly presented the research sampling, research method and process, validity and reliability, ethical and moral issues in the qualitative study. The third part briefly abstracted Z village and the situation of entering the scenes. The fourth part is research results, and summary the information to present the parenting ideas, thinking of the scientific changes, and specific measures to improve it.The final part is a review of the research reflections on the study of perception, as well as the process of research and reflection, which is an essential part in the qualitative research. The survey found some conclusions that parental concept in Z village has following several aspects of performance:traditional concept that heavy raised and light taught still exists, and early taught concept slightly lack, and patriarchal traditional concept are weakening; expects of children are full of utility and only wisdom tendencies, competition consciousness is strong and reflected in parental concept; early taught knowledge slightly explicit lack, and parents and ancestors have differences in parental knowledge beings, but gap gradually narrowed, ancestors parental no longer stick traditional, young parents also no longer completely rely on ancestors in parental experience of heritage, the way to get parental knowledge is more convenient, parenting is more scientific; parents short of the consciousness to combine the daily life and parental phase, only focuses on sports and intellectual, relative ignored moral and aesthetic; parental concept and actual behavior derailed, spoil children and playing scolded children of phenomenon coexist, parental behavior lack right methods, still rendering out "extensive type" situation, education method needs to be improved; father role consciousness is good, parental participation degree is high, teaching child is no longer just a mother’s responsibility. From the following aspects, we can increase parenting ideas of Z village parents: focus on rural economic development, diversification of parental guidance campaigns, mobilization of efforts in training and education for parents.
