3D model making course as a core curriculum in Higher Vocational animation design and production of professional, in the curriculum system occupies a pivotal position, the 3D model making is making subsequent 3D game scenes, 3D game props, 3D game role production course. The research and innovation of the traditional art based modeling ability, space perception ability, aesthetic ability and computer operation skill, comprehensive knowledge and ability are covered in the course, which determines the teaching of this course can not be simple, traditional teaching method was taken, but the innovation, scientific attitude, and advancing with the times thinking, multi-level, full range, the diversification of teaching methods, the traditional teaching procedure drastically improved, so as to improve the teaching quality, to meet the needs of the talent market.This article in the system analysis, at present most of the higher vocational colleges, animation design and production of professional 3D model making problems existing in the course teaching, discusses the present relatively new task driving the connotation and characteristics of teaching method, presents the motivation theory, collaborative learning theory, research learning theory and constructivist learning theory is the theoretical basis of task driven teaching method; the construction based on project oriented task driven teaching method of Higher Vocational animation design and professional production of 3D model making course teaching design.
