Moral education in China is generally divided into four groups, namely concept teaching, emotional empathy, attitude cultivat ion and social practice. Among these, emotional education helps to form a personnel with healthy and whole characters since it promotes all of the students’ positive emotions towards their life, studying and surroundings by respecting and cultivating their social and emotional qualities and developing their emotional abilities of self-regulating. “Love thy life” education is a positive emotional education that helps the students love their life.This study is about the development and implementation of a s chool-based moral education, themed “love thy life”. This study aims to provide a complete case of school-based moral course which shows the preparations, the systems and the implementation, in search of an effective way to put emotional education into practice. Combined with project learning theory, the research is conducted concerning the principles, programs, methods, steps and routes of school-based course evelopment. Through the research, the students have aroused their senses of responsibility and their passion for life. A guidebook for teachers on life education is also compiled to improve the teachers abilities in course development and implementation. The system of school-based courses is more organized and the efficiency is raised. This study, with the experience from real practice, has also put forward some suggestions for the development and implementation of domestic moral educational courses.
