China’s economic development can never be separated from the participation of large amounts of high-quality blue-collar workers with entrepreneurial spirit and innovation ability. As the backbone power for cultivating technical workers, secondary vocational schools should expand thoughts and improve students’ qualities via various measures, thereby facilitating them to genuinely become talents “who are expert in one filed while possessing all-round knowledge and ability” required by society.Historical extracurricular activities can better adapt to characteristics of students of secondary vocational schools relying upon rich course resources and flexible organization forms, and exert pivotal role on constructing students’ knowledge framework and ability system.Basing on literature review, survey on history teachers and students of secondary vocational schools as well as the author’s practical experience, this paper expounded on the meaning and principle of organizing and developing historical extracurricular activities, as well as the organization forms and development contents suitable for secondary vocational schools. Moreover, it discussed the approaches and methods of activities.This paper consists of five parts:Presented the cause,research status of topic and the introduction defined main concepts,as well as the research value、significance and method of this paper.Chapter I(Meaning of the Organization and Development of Historical Extracurricular Activities in Secondary Vocational Schools) mainly expounded from three aspects, respectively “inspiring students’ interests”, “improving students’ abilities” and “cultivating students’ emotional attitudes and values”.Chapter II(Survey on the Organization and Development Conditions of Historical Extracurricular Activities in Secondary Vocational Schools) mainly analyzed survey results on students and teachers, and understood their attitudes on its development and selections on activity forms and contents.Chapter III(Principle of the Organization and Development of Historical Extracurricular Activities in Secondary Vocational Schools) elaborated five principles(appropriateness, relations, applicability, independence, and guidance) of the development and organization of historical extracurricular activities in secondary vocational schools.Chapter IV(Approaches and Methods for the Organization and Development of Historical Extracurricular Activities in Secondary Vocational Schools) mainly presented nine approaches and methods(visit, survey, interview, making, reading, watching film and TV programs, interest group, writing) suitable for historical extracurricular activities in secondary vocational schools, and proposed implementation suggestions.
