A University Master Data Management Platform Solution Design

As the informatization of education is more and more highly thought and developed in many years, the A university has a first-class environment of campus network and rich online resources. At the same time, the functional departments of the university have also developed their information management systems based on their managements and educational works. After using these systems, the functional departments have improved the efficiency of their works, enhanced the information literacy of teachers and students, accumulated data, and provided an important source of information for the university to establish the master data management platform.Based on the needs of the A University’s information construction, the paper proposed a solution of the master data management platform. The solution aims to unify data standards, to realize real-time access all non heterogeneous databases, to improve universal property of the data, to integrate the heterogeneous databases, to connect "information islands" of the university, and to build authoritative data sources. It can standardize the whole processes of data collection, processing and exchange. The consistency, integrity and accuracy of the data can also be ensured. All information data can be shared by all departments. The comprehensive utilization of information data and preliminary display can be realized. At the same time, it is convenient to accumulate historical data, to provide the basis for decision-making of the university and to make a good strategic preparation for the arrival of the era of big data.
