| With the continuous development of education reform, the value of education has changed greatly, and the education of our country is transforming from the survival oriented education to the development oriented education which provides the appropriate education for each child’s development, to lay the foundation for their lifelong learning. The success or failure of the career planning is in relation to the students in the recognition and the evaluation of their o wn dignity and sense of satisfaction. With the influx of a large number of migrant workers in our city who play a pivotal role in the construction of the city, the problems of their children’s education have been exposed. The general education and vocational education will be the inevitable trend of the development of China’s education structure.Carrying out vocational education in the junior middle school is a combination of the current situation and problems of our school. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, which describes the background,the aspects, the aims and methods of the research. The second part analyzes the current urban migrant workers’ families and children’s education needs and presents the analysis of some schools’ questionnaire survey in Baoshan District. The third part describes the theoretical basis of vocational education. The fourth part is the practice of vocational education in a middle school in Baoshan District, Shanghai. The last part is the result and reflection which conclude the value and significance of developing vocational pre-education.The junior high school education is a double task which offers the ordinary high school students and fosters the vocational school to transfer labor reserve force. In the junior middle school, the vocational pre-education is to improve students’ ability of employment, to carry out individual career guide, to help students to plan their own actual time of their career, to establish a correct concept of occupation and to find a suitable job and finally to promote the completion of self realization.Developing the vocational pre-education in junior high schools can provide guides for the students’ lifelong learning as well as the basic analyses of the education reform. |
