This paper chooses Longhorn Miao as the research object, which is an unique lineage of Miao nationality in Guizhou Province. It is focus on the left behind children’s education in Suoga Village in an Ethnology perspective. Because of its special geographical location and national identity, the local left behind children and their problems have their unusual features. From researching the problem on left behind children’s education, this article examines the interaction among the person, culture and social behind the phenomenon of the left behind in the Longhorn Miao community.There are various research methods in this paper, such as literature searching method, fieldwork method, case interview method, etc. The author has an overall interpretation on left behind children’s education of the Longhorn Miao in Suoga Village, and then summarizes the obvious problems on the children and their community and culture. After that, the author explores the underlying reasons from personal, social and cultural dimensions, and finally exposes the initially solving strategy, which is constructing the complex social support network.The paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction, which mainly covers the reasons and significance of choosing this topic, definition of research objections and related review of literature, research perspective and methods, etc.The second part is the main part of this paper. It includes five chapters:The first chapter briefly introduces the main situation of the field:geographic location and history, nature and social environment, population structure and livelihoods in Suoga Village. The second chapter describes the whole situation of the left behind children’s education of Longhorn Miao in the way of Ethnographic, which mainly includes lacking of family education, absence of school education and neglecting community education. The third chapter summarizes the series of problems based on the left behind children’s education situation, which mainly reflect on the lacking of personality of children, national traditional culture interruptions and the fracture of social replacement. The forth chapter conducts a preliminary inquiry about the reasons why there are so many problems on the left behind children, their community and culture, and the reasons contain the demand of individual rationality, social changes and the interaction of the great tradition and small tradition. The fifth chapter puts forward the solving strategy aimed to the problems, which is constructing the social support network constituted by government, schools, community and individuals.The third part is the conclusion. The author summarizes the whole paper, which involves three items:the function of traditional culture on the social roles shaping of the left behind children is declining gradually, left behind children are the "marginal man" in modern education, and the "Great tradition " outputs to the "Small tradition" in one-dimensional.
