With the advancing of English teaching reform, our country advocates to cultivate students’ comprehensive capability of English language handling. While in the linguistic performance, the most immediate way is speaking. People express their thoughts and communicate with each other by means of speaking. Therefore, oral English teaching has drawn attention of teachers and students. But in the practical teaching, because of the influence of different factors, there is a very common phenomenon that the oral English abilities of junior school students are low. In view of this, this study aims at applying Task-based Teaching Method and Communicative Language Teaching into the oral English teaching under the information technology environment. Then it expounds specifically the effectiveness of developing junior high school students’ oral English teaching under the information technology environment and trains students’ oral communicative competence by implementing and testing the teaching case design.This thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter one introduces because of speaking becomes more and more important, the author reads the English Curriculum Criterion carefully and finds out the requirement of junior high school students’ oral English level. Then the author knows the existing problem of oral English teaching in the way of questionnaire and interview. At the same time, it collects literature about how to apply the technology into the oral English teaching and the teaching method of speaking.Chapter two states the theoretical basis of oral English teaching. This study is supported by the Input Hypothesis of American Linguist Krashen, Output Hypothesis of Swain and social contexts of second language acquisition.Chapter three introduces oral English teaching method under the information technology environment. The author proceeds from the definition and basic patterns of Task-based Teaching Method and Communicative Language Teaching and the role of information technology to establish Task-based Teaching pattern and Communicative Language Teaching pattern under the information technology environment.In Chapter four and Chapter five, the researcher designs two teaching case What does he look like? and In the restaurant based on the two teaching patterns. Then they are carried out, tested and analyzed.The last chapter shows the result and innovation points of this thesis, addresses the limitation of the study and provides future research suggestions.
