Teaching practice ability of teachers is an important symbol to measure whether or not the future teacher is qualified to be a good teacher. With the advancement of the integration of teacher education,they begin to cultivate teachers from pre-service master’s level,which have brought attention of most countries. Practice-oriented teacher education in urban teacher residency model is a major challenge for the traditional models of cultivating teachers that emphasize theory and light practice,emphasize knowledge and light ability. It pays more attention to the future teacher’s practical knowledge and their education practice ability. It is the main direction of the world teacher education reform and the key to promote the professional development of teachers in our country,especially the full-time master’s cultivating. In the cultivating process,there are some improper practices that we emphasize theory more than practice in our country,which is not helpful to the new curriculum reform,to the study,and to the professional development of the teachers.In this paper,the author adopts the literature method and case method to study the education of teaching practice ability of Urban Teacher Residency Model. Hope that it can have some significance to the educational practical ability training of full-time master’s cultivating in our country. The paper is divided into five sections:the first part discusses the reasons of the research,the research of status in and abroad,the definition of related concepts;The second part introduced the urban teacher residency model from social demand,times challenge and theory support;The third part introduced the cultivating system of educational practical ability of urban teacher residency model from training concept,objectives,method and security;The fourth part introduced the fruitful implementation model of educational practical ability cultivating of urban teacher residency-Newark urban teacher residency. They described in detail in cultivating educational practical ability of its future teachers;The fifth part puts forward some enlightenment,making efforts to grasp the advantages of educational practical ability of urban teacher residency model and having a scheme for the full-time master’s cultivating based on the reality of lacking of the training of education practical ability.
