Teachers’ learning ability is an important pathway for their professional development.Teachers are not only the ones who deliver knowledge,but also educators.They need to constantly improve themselves,learn proactively,adopt a lifelong learning mindset,only then the quality of teachers can be improved.If teachers have stopped learning,they are not only being quickly eliminated from society,but also unable to promote the development of students.Thus the author chooses Malaysia K secondary school in Kuala Lumpur,where she is located,as a research case to analyse the problems of teachers’ learning ability,understands the reasons behind the problems,and proposes improvement strategies,so as to promote the professional development of teachers and establish an excellent team of teachers.The main focuses of this study are: How is the learning ability related to the professional development of teachers? What is the current situation of teachers’ learning ability in K secondary school? What are the problems of teachers’ learning ability in K secondary school? What is the reason behind the learning ability problem? What are the ways to improve the teachers’ learning ability of K secondary school?This research adopts qualitative research method as the main research paradigm,and obtains information on the current situation of teachers’ learning ability in K secondary school through questionnaires,interviews,case study and observations.The problems are discovered based on the four dimensions in learning ability of teachers,which are driving force,practical ability,cooperation and sharing ability,and self reflection ability.Combining interviews with 13 teachers,case study on 5 teachers and observations,this study found that the learning ability of K secondary school teachers was generally satisfactory.Teachers in K secondary school have an average level of learning driving force,poor practical ability,insufficient cooperation and sharing ability,and weak self reflection ability.Therefore,on the issue of improving teachers’ learning ability,the key to driving teachers’ learning is to establish a correct concept on individual teachers.Learn to plan rationally and lay a solid foundation for the practice of learning goals.Facilitating collaboration among teachers requires teachers to be open to change.The awareness of self reflection can only be stimulated by updating teachers’ ideas.The campus is full of humanistic feelings and can promote teachers’ cooperation and resource sharing.In order to cultivate the habit of self reflection of teachers,the school should advocate the atmosphere of self reflection in the campus.School should customise teachers learning activities based on teachers expertise in order to stimulate teacher’s motivation to learn.At the same time,resources availability should be improved so that teachers have good practical support.Relevant parties should also improve the bridge of communication between teachers and guide the teachers to communicate among each other.Relevant parties in the society should establish an evaluation mechanism to create a reflective atmosphere to improve teacher’s learning ability and promote the professional development of teachers... |
