With the rapid development of the socialist market economy, the present economic system and employment situation have requested higher professional attainment from people. Therefore, career education has got much attention from reseachers. In recent years, more and more experts and scholars have realized the importance and urgency of career education in primary and middle schools, so that research on career education curriculun has become a new phenomenon. This thesis analyzes and studies four career education curriculums in primary and middle schools in Qingdao first, and then constract the system of career education curriculum in primary and middle schools for twelve years under that basis.This thesis can be divided into the following five parts. Chapter one analyzes the background, purpose and significance of this research, and also introduces the research contents and the major research methods. Chapter two defines the concepts first: “career education” and “career education curriculum in primary and middle schools”, then comb the Chinese and foreign historical documents by literature method and content analysis method about that in order to provide the theoretical basis for this study. Chapter three mainly uses the questionnaire method to understand the career maturity of senior high school students in Qingdao, and finds that they have low levels of development on career decision-making knowledge and career decision-making attitude. Therefore, this part illuminates the necessity of career education curriculum in primary and middle schools in Qingdao. Then this part also illuminates the feasibility of that curriculum by analysis the available career education measures and the level of the current new curriculum reform in Qingdao. Chapter four uses case-study approach to describe the background and realization condition of curriculum, curriculum objectives, curriculum contents,curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation of the four selected career education curriculum in Qingdao. Then analyzes the implementation effects from two aspects: parents and students’ preferences and the students’ career maturity. After analysis above, evaluates advantages and disadvantages of the four selected curriculums. Chapter five uses four selected curriculuns for reference, and constract the system of career education curriculum in primary and middle schools for twelve years based on Ginzberg’s and Super’s career development theory.
