As a crucial base to cultivate skilled nursing personnel, higher vocational colleges have achieved huge development in the scale during the past 20 years. With that being stated, the connotation construction inevitably becomes the subject of the future development of higher vocational colleges, in which the curriculum is the core. Since China has been positively promoting vocational education, vocational education curriculum theory has sustaining innovations. How is the current situation of nursing curriculum reform in higher vocational colleges; how do different colleges make the choice in the flow of the reform; what are the existing problems and the reasons of them; how to scientifically use these experience for reference; how to choose the right path of the nursing curriculum; the purpose and the ending point of the article is to tackle these problems.The text has four parts. The first part analyzes the curriculum theory system from the basis, theoretical orientation and target. The second part is the investigation and analysis about the current situation of higher vocational nursing curriculum in our country. The basis of survey, the curriculum structure, time allocation of the course modules and the evaluation of courses from the information of 10 higher vocational demonstrative colleges are analyzed in this part. This research thinks that the curriculum reform of different schools is generally compatible to the direction of China’s vocational education reform and the social development, but there are some problems, such as lack of value goal, nursing absence in curriculum reform concept, obscurity of the content of training objectives and the slipshodness of curriculum structure, whose reasons are also discussed in this part. The third part analyzes the features of German nursing curriculum, and profoundly understands the concept and connotation of German vocational education according to Germany three-year nursing vocational education "learning field" curriculum guidelines. Aiming at the problems of nursing curriculum in higher vocational colleges in China, the fourth part proposes some improved strategies, i.e. turn the value goal from "training" to "education"; change the curriculum objective from "abstract" to "concrete"; transfer the curriculum structure from the "layer" to "web"; return the curriculum implementation from "clinical" to "life"; and upgrade the curriculum evaluation from " simplification" to " diversity ", drawing lessons from Germany nursing education curriculum concept.Under the background of vigorously developing nursing vocational education, this article starts from the hot spot of the curriculum reform, fully displays the status of nursing curriculum reform in higher vocational colleges, analyzes and discusses the three-year nursing curriculum of German vocational education, and ultimately puts forward the strategic thinking about curriculum reform to offer enlightenment and reference to nursing curriculum reform in higher vocational colleges in China.
