With the rapid development of social economy, the environmental problem is increasingly outstanding and it makes the sustainable development of our country facing a larger obstacle. It shows us that” education is the basis of environmental protection”, so people pay more and more attention to education on changing the concept of people and the role of improving environmental problems. However, the later starting of the school environmental management in our country and long-term impact of examination-oriented education and the ignorance of school environmental management lead to students’ weak ability of environmental consciousness, environmental behaviors and participating ability.In 2003, the Ministry of Education issued “the environmental education of primary and middle schools to implementation of the guidelines”. The file points out:” campus environmental management should be the resources and ways to improve the level of the school environmental education, which provides a policy basis for the school to save resources, to reduce the running cost, to reduce the pollution of environment and to carry out the school environmental education. The stage of primary and middle school is the key stage of compulsory education; the middle school stage is more critical to carry out the environmental education and environmental management and to cultivate the students’ environmental awareness in the middle school. Now, along with the further development of our country to create "green schools", the role of environmental management in environmental education has become increasingly prominent. So it is of great practical significance to carry out research on school environmental management in primary and middle school.In 2010, International Organization for Standardization issued the ISO26000 international standards of social responsibility, which shows that the environmental theme applies to all types of organizations.The social subjects including school organizations have the following unshirkable social responsibility: facing the environmental challenges, enhancing the level of the school environmental management and environmental education, ensuring the sustainability of the consumption on the resources and realizing the sustainable development of the ecological environment. Because the ISO26000 has the generality, scientific and pertinence of the school environmental management for all walks of life, this study intends to introduce the ISO26000 to middle school management, trying to promote the level of the middle school environmental management.This paper includes five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction. It mainly elaborates the reasons for title, research purposes and significance, literature review and research methods.The second chapter is the theoretical basis. It mainly expounds the related concepts and basic theories of ISO26000, environmental management, school environmental management environmental education and so on.The third chapter mainly demonstrates the relationship between ISO26000 and the middle school environmental management, which includes the statement on the environmental management of ISO26000; ISO26000 and ISO14001; the necessity and feasibility of ISO26000 to introduce into the middle school environmental management. Among them, the author further teases out the framework of specific content of middle school environmental management based on ISO26000, which includes the following five aspects: environmental policy, prevention and control of pollution; resources management; campus ecology and health and safety.The fourth chapter has conducted researches and surveys in a Middle School in Yunnan and a Middle School in Shanghai since September 2014 according to the opinions of the judges given in the opening report by the end of June 2015. The author tries to comprehend objectively and comprehensively on the school environmental management of two middle schools and to find and analyze the problems existing in the middle school environmental management by questionnaire and interview. Thus, it provides reliable data for the study of first-hand information.According to the surveys of two middle schools, the suggestions and thinking to promoting the middle school environmental management are proposed based on the ISO26000.Finally, the author concludes with the study, and then puts forward to the prospect of further research.
