A Study On The Factors Affecting The Employment Of Graduates Of Liberal Arts

With the enrollment scale of our colleges and universities continuously extended, the amount of liberal arts majors and students are continuing to rise, more and more graduates of liberal arts joined the tide of job market. The particularity of liberal arts majors and cultivating mode making structural contradictions increase between graduates of liberal arts and employer, graduates of liberal arts facing a tough job market. There are many different ways to deal with the employment difficulty of graduates of liberal arts. However, the fundamental way to solve this problem is to promote the employability of graduates of liberal arts. Research the employability of graduates of liberal arts is not only the need for liberal arts student, but also the need for colleges and universities, administrations and employers respectively.For this, this paper choose graduates of liberal arts as the object to research, with the help of empirical investigation to find out the factors influencing the employability of graduates of liberal arts, attempting to give new approaches to promote the employability of graduates of liberal arts. On the basis of document research, the constitutional dimension and elements to employability of graduates of liberal arts has been clearly defined. Through analyzing current situation of liberal arts graduates’ employment, the prominent problems of arts graduates’ employment have been find and then elaborated the necessity for researching the influences of graduates of liberal arts from graduates of liberal arts themselves, colleges and universities, administrations and employers. By means of survey and interview college graduates and employers, analyzed the influences constitution to employability of graduates of liberal arts systematically. At the end, the paper put forward feasible countermeasures and suggestions as how to improve the employability of graduates of liberal arts from graduates of liberal arts themselves, colleges and universities, administrations and employers field.
