Mathematical inquiry learning is a teacher contact social life to choose the theme, discuss and create a learning environment in the classroom. The process of students’ independent participation in analysis, discussion, practice, reasoning and verification, induction and summarization, etc. Let students grasp the new knowledge,improve the ability of mathematical thinking, establish a scientific research attitude,and enhance the ability of innovation. Function is one of the most important mathematical ideas Middle School Mathematics and the core content of the middle school mathematics, it is carried out in the middle school teaching. The function is an effective mathematical model to solve the practical problems, in middle school, the teaching of function reflects the dependencies between the objective world and the movement of quantity and quantity, understanding the trend of things and movement rules. In middle school mathematics teaching, the function thinking method has very important guiding role in the reform of basic education, the research and practice of function inquiry teaching has become one of the important subjects of mathematics teachers and researchers.This paper adopts the research method of literature research, action research method, interview method, investigation. Master the current situation of the function teaching and learning of junior middle school in our school, analyze the requirement of curriculum standard, and define the teaching goal of junior high school function.This study on how to carry out inquiry based teaching activities in Linear function high school function class teaching, analyzes the effect of the implementation of Linear function inquiry teaching in junior middle school.To explore the effectiveness of Linear function inquiry teaching methods and explore ways to stimulate students’ interest in learning mathematics, and ultimately achieve the effect of optimizing the classroom.The experimental results show that the effect of the implementation of inquiry teaching in junior high school is significant. Student achievement is obviously improved; students participation in the classroom, spoke enthusiastically, thinking open width, focus on learning, achievement promotion aspects are better than conventional teaching class. Compared with the conventional teaching, the experimental class students found that the problem, the ability to analyze and solve problems are better, and they have mathematics knowledge used in social life, a strong sense of reality. The inquiry teaching mode promotes the students’ sense ofteam and communication ability, and promotes the depth and extent of the communication between teachers and students.
