Knowledge, ability and quality are the three essential factors of contemporary educational target. There is knowledge but no ability, it is impossible applying the knowledge to practice, and we can't come to the four demands of education of the 21th century: learning cognition, learning to work, learning to survive, learning to live together, that UNESCO has posed. Education not only gives students' knowledge, but also cultivates their ability; it is the important contents of quality education. As the important part of middle school education, Mathematics remands us to research in deep gradually for ability. Formerly, we are always more concerned with the construction of mathematics ability, however, the education practice need us to have an explicit understanding about students' practical mathematics ability. Mentioned above, we carry out the investigation of students' real mathematics ability. Especially, we must illustrate the whole level of the middle school students' practical mathematics ability through the test. The study can provide abundant material and reliable basis for education research. At the same time, it is also important significant for the new course's plan and implement.
