The desire of needs is a manifestation of human being's life activities. As long as man has any life activity, man has needs. In seeking for the satisfaction of personal needs, a variety of practical activities are generated by human being. Education, as a human-specific practical activity, meets human's needs both in self-development and social development. The ideological and political course occupies a special position and plays a special role in school education. The value of its teaching lies in its being able to satisfy the needs of social development and student's self-development. The social needs and student's needs, should both be reflected equally in teaching as principal part positions. However, in the current teaching of ideological and political course, student's principal part needs is in a relatively inferior position.Based on those considerations and taking student's principal part needs as starting point, this thesis proposes some views and ideas in accordance with the existing problems in the teaching of ideological and political course. First of all, the thesis discusses the principles concerning principal part needs, analyses the levels and types of principal part needs while emphasizing on exploring the special needs of students as a special principal part. Next, from the perspective of the mutual motivation between student's principal part needs and education and teaching, it analyzes the satisfying and directional functions of education and teaching on principal part needs and the influence of principal part needs on education and teaching in terms of value tropism, objective and motivation. Finally, the thesis reassesses the teaching of ideological and political course from the perspective of principal part needs, and self-examines the conflicts between principal part needs and the teaching of the course, thus to conclude that these conflicts in nature are the conflicts between social standard and individual standard. Therefore, the thesis points out that to optimize the teaching of ideological and political course, it is necessary to focus on adhering to the double standard value tropism of social and individual standard, and then advances several points for consideration on insisting the double standard value tropism.While Concentrating on the study of student's principal part needs, the thesis is not to refuse social needs, but to raise the inferior position of student's principal part needs so that the double standard value tropism in teaching can be better insisted, and the unity between social development and individual development can be realized.
