McClelland, AtKinson, Weiner, Ausubel, Bandura,Seligman and Abramson Achievement motivation is a kind of psychological inclination of the individual who is striving to pursues in the ativities.As an advanced social motivation,it means a lot to individual develoment and social improvement.From Murray,Achievement motivation has become a stage on which psychologists exert their wisdom and energy.There is a variety of theories about achievement motivation,here we only take some representive and typical ones as samples.The development of society and improvement of scientific techonology require higher qualification of civilians.In order to cate for this situation ,government quickens the step of developing higher education,enlarging the scale of the colleges.In this case,all of the universitie s are booming. At the same time,more and more students are engaging in taking the exam of the graduate.This essay probes into the achievement motivation of the teacher's universities,trying to acquire the level of their motivation,also tring to give some advice on how to cultivate and encourage the students'achievement motivation,hoping to do some good to enhancing their motivation.Our study takes 381 college students as the samples,using the paper of Achievement motivation,measures the Achievement motivation of the college students,the motivation of pursuing success and the motivation of avoiding failure.The study includes the following wariations:sex,grade,popular or nonpopular maijor,different departments,through careful investigations and calculations,we have drew following conclusions:First,from the independent-sample test ,we have drawn the conclusion: A) There are smart differences on the level of achivement motivation,such factors include:literal arts and natural science,to take exam of graduate or not,popupar and nonpopular major of natural science. B). There are obvious differences on the motivation level of pursuing success:suh factors include:male or female, to take examof graduate or not .C). There are conspicuous differences on the motivation level of avoiding failure,such factors include: literal arts and natural science,different grades,to take exam of graduate or not,popupar and nonpopular majors of natural science.Second,through the multiple sample test we have drawn the conclusion: the achievement motivation of the student varies between following pairs of factors:literal arts and natural sciences;male students and femal students;grade one and grade three;rurual areas and urban areas. In the analysis of the multiple samles,we find no obvious effects of interaction.but the results still have something instructive and meaningful.According the consequence of the our work,we offer the some advice on how to cultivate and encourage achievement motivation :first,cultivating their conception of responsibility.second,pay attention to the diffirence between the male and femal in the course of training their motivation.third.thirdly,reform the teaching method in the university,activating their inner motivation.fourth,organizing some competitive activeties,enhancing the achievement motivation.
