Teacher administration is an essential part of school administration, an important guarantee of success of education reform and a vital condition of teachers' growth and development. In the current research practice of education reform and teacher administration reform, we ought to learn from other countries' experience with an open mind and finally explore a reform approach appropriate to our Chinese condition. Canada is a country with quality education and Alberta is one of its provinces whose people enjoy the best education in Canada. They have comparatively perfect and advanced teachers administration systems, studying of which must be helpful to our development. That is the purpose of this dissertation.This paper consists of four chapters and each includes three sections. The first three chapters introduce Alberta teachers administration system in detail, from which we get some experience and inspiration that makes Chapter 4. Chapter 1 briefly writes about some knowledge of Canada and Alberta and some related systems of teacher administration in Alberta. Its 3 sections are: background of Canada and Alberta, Alberta teachers certification system & authority and role of school administrators in Alberta. Chapter 2 is about Alberta teachers contract system, which is the most significant part of Alberta teachers administration system. Chapter 2 has three sections: essence and types of teacher contract, terminating a contract and other contractual matters. Alberta teachers teaching administration system is Chapter 3, the first two sections of which are teaching duties and teachers' liability. Alberta is the first province in Canada to adopt a teaching quality standard, which is presented as Section 3 of Chapter 3. Chapter 4, based on the above-mentioned information, discusses some problems existing in the practice of our countries' teacher administration. Using the experience of Alberta, I present some personal ideas as inspiration from the preceding chapters on purpose to make some contribution to our education reform. They are also the innovation of this paper, such as incorporating administration by law and regulation and by man and humanity & human-based teacher administration.Shouldering the important task of education reform, on the protracted tortuous way, all of us would try our best and devote our lives in the struggle, so that our education will be more flourishing and our country will be stronger and our people will be happy and healthy!...
