Case teaching has gain rapid development as a new teaching model, and it gain people's more and more attention but the study on case teaching are mainly remained on the countermeasures of the application, whereas there is deficient on the discussion of the theory of case teaching. Case teaching has its history of sprouting, coming into being and development. Case teaching is a teaching model that the students develop their abilities and form personality through learning, discussing, and analysis the case and questions that teacher have prepared. Case teaching's characters embody in these aspects: taking case as thread, basing on the communication between teacher and students; aiming at the cultivating of the student's ability and developing in all round way; the whole optimization of the teaching organization and teaching medium; the various answer and synthetically review. Case teaching is obviously different from exampling with distance and example teaching. Case teaching have its theory base: transfer theory, information processing theory, cognitive flexibility theory, teaching communication theory and form learning theory. Case teaching will promote the study and application of teaching multilateral activity theory, the study and practice of discipline synthesizing and teaching model optimization, the melting together of the different teaching and the development in practice. The application of case teaching model has specific program and demand. Case teaching model will promote the prosperity of the teaching theory and the development of the teaching practice.
