Moral education is the primary goal of education and moral education at school builds the basis of citizens' moral education. The practicality of moral education at school directly determines the formation of good morality of citizens. In order to advance citizens' moral education, the ultimate way is to enhance the moral education at school and improve its practicality. Chinese traditional moral education contributes many successful experiences. But there still exit many disadvantages, which plays a bad effect on the practicality of moral education at school. So it is important for the moral education to reform the way of moral education at school and to widen its channel with the development and change of society and school.Inquiry learning is the course set up to advance the quality education and foster talents of new pattern. The implementation of inquiry learning provides practical basis for the study of inquiry learning. Viewed from the experience of some places where inquiry learning is practiced, we could see that inquiry learning not only conforms to the education reform but also is welcome by students. Thus research study is of important realistic significance.On the basis of the practice of inquiry learning, this paper explains in details the moral education significance by incorporating China's current moral education contents and requirements, analyzing the process of inquiry learning by applying moral education theories. Apart from the brief introduction and conclusion, this paper has four main parts. First, the concept of moral education is defined. The author explains the moral education goal, existing problems and challenges in current stage in Chinese schools. Second, the concept of inquiry learning is defined. And the features of inquiry learning and organizing process for implementation are displayed. Third, on the basis of moral education process at home and abroad, the nature and principle of moral education is explained as well as the relations between the process of inquiry learning and moral study. Fourth, the moral education significance of inquiry learning is analyzed through referring to a great number of cases. It includes three aspects: first, inquiry learning enriches the channel of moral education and facilitates the construction of whole moral education network; second, inquiry learning advocates the education ideology of initiative study, which is more agreeable to the principle of moral education process; third, the practice of inquiry learning enhances the practicality of moral education.
