With the upsurge of reflective culture worldwide, more and more educational researchers are focusing on reflective teaching and reflective teacher. Under these conditions, teaching practices of excellent teachers of Chinese language are being examined, and these studies research the teachers' reflective wisdom, which is valuable both in theory and practice.The thesis is divided into six parts:First, the topic is put forward based on the background of teacher professionalization and elementary education curriculum reform, thus two significant concepts are defined: excellent teachers of Chinese language and reflective wisdom.The second part introduces the cultural background for reflective wisdom. The main topic discussed is the traditional cultural background that helps teachers to reflective teaching. The author analyzes the traditional Chinese thought pattern called introspection, the Confucian theory on moral cultivation, ancient thoughts of studying, and self-control in teaching field.In the third part, the author tries to reveal the connotation of reflective teaching which excellent teachers of Chinese language employ. The aim is to promote the cooperation between teachers and students.The fourth part describes their ways to reflect. And the author analyzes the unbalance. In addition, the author also compares excellent teachers of Chinese language with the American counterparts.The research of the fifth part continues analyzing the peculiarity and the roles of excellent teachers of Chinese language in reflective teaching.The sixth part continues to analyze the attitudes of teachers, pointing out a high responsibility, great consciousness of individual development, which is an inner force to improve their motivations.Finally, the thesis studies the reflective wisdom by pointing out both contributions and shortcomings. It puts forward positive suggestions and inspirations for professional development of teachers of Chinese language.
