Mass Education Thought And Its Practice Of Contemporary Revelation

This article, Yan Yangchu's mass education thought and its practice's present inspirations, is to illustrate the inspirations to contemporary China , especially, to Chinese peasants modernization in combination with present China's rural realities by explaining the main contents of Yan's mass education thought. Therefore, the writer studies about Yan's mass education thought and its present inspiration with the basic theories of Marxism and modernization as well as modern education principles, Under the instruction of the tutor, Professor Qi Peifang .The whole article is divided into three parts except introduction and the concluding remarks.In the introduction, the writer describes the latest state and the significance of the study in brief, and defines the critical concept, involved in the article, mass education .At the same time ,the article's analysis frame is illustrated .The first part is about the summarized accounts of Yan's mass education .In this part, the writer introduces the history background and conditions of Yan's mass education thought at first, then traces back to its theory sources. On the basis of the former history background and the theory sources, the writer puts emphasis on the main contents of Yan's mass education thought . the first is the principal aim of the thought which is to wipe out illiteracy and make a modern citizen. In the whole, the aim is to foster the modern citizen. The second is the Four Educations and Three Ways .On the basis of the social investigation, Yan Yangchu's thought Chinese peasants are illiterate, poor, weak and selfish, and he put forward a solution through the four educations, literary and art education hygienic education, citizen education, livelihood education. He drew up the enforcement ways of the four educations, school, social and family education. Yan Yangchu hope to transform the entire life by giving the nation the equal education chance through the four educations and three ways. The third is the ten creeds which is methodology about how the intellectuals steep into the rural society, carry out the mass education, and take part in the rural remolding movements. The second part is about the features and its history comments of Yan Yangchu's mass education thought . After analyzing the main contents of Yan's mass education thought, the writer points out that the mass education has six features, equality, practicality, initiative, scientific, entirety systematization and university. Then the writer compares Yan's mass education thought with others of his time, makes a comment on his mass education thought, from its history role and limitations, and points out Yan's thought is an efficient way to develop the civil resources in peaceful time as well.The third part is about the present inspiration of Yan's mass education thought. Seventy years of the mass education practice proves that yan's thought plays an important role in improving the rural education, promoting the peasants qualities .The study is significant to realize today's peasants modernization. It's illustrated from the following three aspects. Firstly, the peasants' modernization is the core of China's modernization, the peasants' issue is the critical issue of China's modernization and the peasants' modernization lies the key point of the peasants issue. Therefore, how to realize the peasant's modernization attracts much social attention. Yan's thought put forward a new solution way for us. The present rural education is still belonged to the elite it is of no benefit to improve the peasants qualities in the whole.
