Peace and development are main topics of today's world. Realizing sustainable development have become a basic national policies of our country. It's important to educate senior high school student for sustainable development. Because many fields of chemistry has covered environment, energy, resources and science of life, how to educate student for sustainable development in chemistry class has become an important subject in chemical education research.Because education for sustainable development (ESD) has just begun in recent years in China, research on ESD is still on its initial stage, a lot of problems remain to be studied in the future research..In view of the problems that are based on ESD are of a wide range, this thesis only focus on several subjects of ESD for senior high school students in chemistry class. In order to promote the ESD research, emphasis has been laid on identifying the relationship between ESD and environmental education not only in theoretical aspect, but also finding out the comprehension of senior grade one students of several problems of green chemistry and make use of constructivism teaching mode for ESD in case study in practical aspects.This whole thesis is divided into six parts.The first part, general description of ESD. Mainly discussing the related theories of ESD and defining key concepts in this thesis.The second part is on relationships between ESD and environmental education. The thesis delves from multiple angles deep into the problem and by meticulous comparison and study, reach a conclusion about the relationship between these two aspects.The third part is an investigation of the cognitive and behavioral level of senior high school students for sustainable development. The author, through the assumption, investigation, data and statistics analysis, draws related conclusions, and discovers a new problem in this process, thus determining the following research topics.The fourth part is students' understanding of related problems of green chemistry. To find out students' understanding of the main ideas of green chemistry, reducing amounts in chemistry experiments and utilization of atoms before they formally study the green chemistry.The fifth part is the case study on how to make use of constructivism teaching mode for ESD. The author puts forth new concepts in the application and creation several constructivism teaching modes for ESD, in order to increase the students' consciousness and behavioral level for sustainable development.The sixth part is conclusions and inspirations. Including the conclusions and inspirations of this research , and the following research subjects to be desired.
