At present, with the developed science and technology, people’s standard of living is raised, but behind which also hides problems,such as environmental damage, economic crisis and social contradictions emerge in endlessly. Facing such situation, education for sustainable development (the English abbreviation for ESD, hereinafter referred to as ESD) is particularly important.In this paper, through literature research and text analysis, on the basis of a preliminary understanding of ESD related theory, and on the anatomizing of the unique advantage of penetration in chemistry teaching ESD and its value, the author thought it is feasible and necessary to carry out the ESD in chemistry teaching. Through the analysis of the difficulties of ESD penetration, the author suggested that in the process of ESD penetration teachers should seize the key content firstly. Next, author did a research on the way of ESD penetration in chemistry teaching ESD, proposed teachers can achieve ESD penetration in four ways: theory teaching, experiment teaching, extracurricular activities and real life. Then author put forward three kinds of exploratory teaching mode of ESD penetration based on integrating the teaching way characteristics advocated the new curriculum reform with the course characteristics of chemistry teaching,After that, author showed readers how to permeate ESD in middle school chemistry teaching through the case analysis. Finally, author evaluate the effects of ESD penetration way in chemistry teaching. Hope these research can offer some help to the first-line teachers implementing a better sustainable development education, and make a little contribution to the nation producing high-quality talent.
