In this essay, I explore embody of modern courses theroy in high school maths teaching by comparing the new textbook to the old one. A research is done in the content and the system of the textbook and the curriculum designing as well mainly through comparison method, in addition to the methods of interviewing and quizing. The development of modern science and technology and the renewal of knowledge demand appropriate intellectuals and education. Education reform is a historical must and a social request: on one hand, people's utilitarianism in maths hinders the development of maths teaching in Middle School. What do we study maths for? On the other hand, this is an information age, which means you can never master even a small part of some field at the cost of the whole of your life. So in my opinion, maths learning is far more than simple calculation. It also provides us with ways to know the world. So we put forward a new teaching mode: point-line-surface-body, "point" teaching is the key centre which shows the simplization of textbooks and the basic structure of the teaching content. A course consists of different "points" and the link between points is the line and then the surface, the body, the process of which embodies the structure of maths. Meanwhile the discovery and exploration of "point" shows us the teaching of questioning and cooperation spirits of human beings.
