| With the development of reform and open policy, education has begun to break through the usual pattern for running a school. From 1980s,private educational institutions came to emerge. They tend to attach more importance to the needs of those educated and conform to the development of the market economy. Their flexible mechanisms have led to the reform of school management systems. This thesis, with the approach of qualitative research, made a thorough study of the management system of Fanye School, a private school from Grade One to Grade Nine. We have found such management characteristics in this school as definite rights and duties, advanced ideas and strong ability to adapt to the outside world. Fanye School introduces the management philosophy of many model enterprises and embodies the awareness of service, market, contract and efficiency, which is often deficient in some public schools. This school has a great decision-making power in its independent education management, especially in the employment of teachers and the curriculum set-up. All this satisfies the principal to a great extent, but gives rise to some problems as well. The policy-making level of the school does not have much democratic consciousness, the teachers do not take initiatives to make greater achievements in their work, and enterprise management method plays a major pant there. As a result of these factors, cohesion of this school is somehow decreasing. And because of the free employment, qualified teachers are not stable, which hinders further development of this school. The purpose of my research lies in the discovery of some existing problems and their solutions. For the healthy development of private schools, we hope that the educational Administration can speed up to make laws about private education, gave some necessary guidance and support to these schools from the global point, rely on qualified and standard intermediary organizations to perfect the management of private schools, give full play to the pioneer roles of private education in the field of educational reforms, and spread their successful experience to public school in order to break down the rigid ness of the old educational systems. |
