Internet exerts a greater and greater influence upon moral education in institutes of higher learning. On the base of analyzing its positive and negative considerations, the paper summarizes the main practice and experience in recent years and puts forward the reform of moral education in institutes of higher learning. It consists of four chapters besides introduction and conclusion.In chapter one, it mainly discusses the development of Internet and its popularization in institutes of higher learning. The chapter takes Internet as a research object and begins with the general concept of Internet.In chapter two, it mainly analyzes the influences of Internet upon moral education in institutes of higher learning. The positive aspects can be summarized as follows: numerous information, strong initiation, fast transformation and timely warning. While the inevitable negative parts are as follows: deterioration of authority, confliction of values, humanity crises and moral hazard. Consequently, several new characteristics appear in moral education in institutes of higher learning, namely, the extension of time and space range in moral education; the enhancement of interactions; the variability of methodology and the improvement on administrative quality.In chapter three, it probes into the practice of moral education in institutes of higher learning. Following items are summarized from the practice and experience in recent years: establishing websites of moral education in institutes of higher learning, setting up laws and regulations for Internet, enhancing the staff' abilities. Then the paper puts forward that it is important and necessary to carry out the quality assessment of websites on moral education in institutes of higher learning. Taking the Shanghai Normal University for example, the paper draws up the assessment program and puts it into practice.In chapter four, it mainly researches into the reform of moral education in institutes of higher learning. Internet brings the reform of the notions of moral education in institutes of higher learning, which performs as follows: from closing to opening; from engrafting to inducting; from ranking to equaling; from unilateral educating to multilateral educating; from other-discipline to self-discipline; from collective educating to individual educating. The system reform mainly embodies in improving the integration of superiority resources, pushing forward the student-oriented administrative system and establishing assessment-and-feedback system. In the end, the paper expounds the methodology reform in two aspects: how to administrate moral education by taking advantage of Internet and how to reduce its abuses.
