Modernization is the overall transition process in which all kinds of systematical fields are involved, and Chinese modernization is an important integral part of the great transformation. As far as Chinese villages are concerned, history of modernization is villages are increasingly abandoned and separated from the core circle of society. In other words, Chinese villages were, and still are, the abandoned baby of modernization. Lacking of the rural modernization means not realizing the comprehensive modernization in China, which has been come to a consensus between officials and scholars. It's well-known that, education plays a important role in the course of fulfilling the rural modernization. Whether the rural industrialization, urbanization or nonagricultural development, or improvement of the people's qualities, which must be fundamentally reduced to the human being, that is, fostering modern persons is the kernel elements of the rural modernization. Of course, it has shared joys and sorrows with the rural education, as has tangible influence on the people's development. It can be seen from the following: modern values generation, growth of the mental civilization and transformation of agricultural labor forces and improvement of peasant's qualities.In the article, with the deep and thick cultural atmosphere and long-history educational tradition, Hui zhou was singled out being the sphere of my examination, and also, the Wang Village in Jixi County was regarded as the crucial case. Firstly, from the perspective of history, on the basis of looking historically back to the concise contents and features of the Hui rural education, I try to give the lesson of the modern one in Hui; Secondly, with the means of Sociology and Anthropology, analyze the contents and characters of the contemporary rural education enforced by the state and informal educationbased on the local knowledge. Finally, inspect the two-way interactions between rural education and modernization. On one hand, if Hui's villages want to realize modernization earlier, education has to be exercised to change the traditional and backward peasants into the modern ones; On the other hand, rural modernization requires corresponding changes of education, which should be also keep pace with the situation. Factually, regarding the development, rural education in Hui has encountered some problems. Now, it is the most pressing matter of the moment to solve problems efficiently. The goal and value of the paper maybe lie in, the government and the non-government can be aware of the importance of the above discussion, and take powerful and appropriate measures to propel the rural education forward healthily and speed up the process of the rural modernization.
