The primary school of peasant workers ,as a newborn social phenomenon presented under public vision ,has attracted widespread social attention and debate in recent years. They, however, often voice from the intention of emotion or moral evaluation and are seldom explained academically. Hence, this thesis intends to give a sociological explanation from the actors involved in this field.Normally speaking, the participants in the social life are aim-achieving rational actors. But their choice cannot be at will, these limited both by the macroscopically social structure, the institutional environment and the relevant cultural and historical values. All this constitute an action framework . The emergence of the primary school of peasant workers are the very result of rational choice among the peasant workers families ,the sponsors of peasant workers primary school and the teachers teaching in these schools. Under the background of the contemporary Chinese urban-rural continuum dual structure , the three types of actors .after a careful measuring and calculation of their own resources and interests, find out the instrumental value of the school as a exchange medium and achieve their action goals respectively through the exchange and reconstructing of resources. First, the sponsors obtain the higher economic rewards and social prestige after the work of organization and coordination. Secondly, the families of peasant workers give money to obtain the improvement of their children's cognitive abilities and other skills. Lastly, the teachers gain a job by teaching .In this process , two kinds of exchange relationships are concerned. The families transfer part of power over their children to the sponsors and cannot get their interests immediately. So, they are eager to establish the trust relationship. While , a kind of separately "authoritative relationship" is needed between the sponsors and the teachers. Consequently, the exchanges form two kinds of outcome: the change of the former educational rules and the emergence of the primary school of peasant workers as corporate actors.The school as a non-institution element has the implication of idea-enlightening , that is to say ,the non-institution is also a kind of construction. On the other hands, as a rational outcome of choice, the primary school of peasant workers must be exposed the tool-oriented pattern in daily operation, which is contrary to the educational ideas. Therefore, we should take advantage of some corporate actors regulations that develop the school in a healthy way. It is also urgent mow to take some other substitutive and feasible options to meet the learning needs of the offspring of the peasant workers.
