| Nowadays, School-based Curriculum Development (SBCD) has been one of the hottest topics of basic education reform in the world, and received wide concerns in domestic as well. The purpose of SBCD is to meet the diversity of students' learning needs, so students' learning needs analysis becomes a necessary sector of the whole curriculum development process. It could provide a valuable information-base to the SBCD and be helpful to promote its effectivity.However, according to the investigation, it is found that there has no systematical statement on students' learning needs analysis in related materials; and generally speaking, lacking of theoretical guidance, students' learning needs analysis is in a spontaneous situation in practical experience of SBCD.In view of this situation, drawing support of multilevel conception from "Needs-Based Curriculum Development Process", SBCD is considered as being composed by two levels, "curriculum development on school base" and "school- based curriculum implementation". Against the background of the two levels, the paper discusses the necessity, definition, content and methods of students' learning needs analysis. Meanwhile, it tries to put forward an easy and feasible model of students' learning needs analysis for the teachers.Therefore, the paper includes the following parts:Based on the document summarization and field investigation, the first part sums up the contemporary facts and problems of students' learning needs analysis in the process of SBCD. It gets a conclusion that students' learning needs analysis lacks systematical statement theoretically and is in the spontaneous situation practically. The second part discusses related conceptions on students' learning needs analysis, and analyzes its necessity in the process of SBCD. The third one puts forward content framework of students' learning needs analysis in the two levels of "curriculum development on school base" and "school-based curriculum implementation". The fourth one takes up the methods of students' learning needs analysis and brings some suggestions about how to makes use of the analysis conclusions in the practice.At last, the paper points out some critical problems which should be paid much attention to in the process of students' learning needs analysis to help teachers improve the efficiency of SBCD. |
