The economic competition of the world today is in faction the competition of talents and the key to the competition of talents is the character of them. Fundamental education is the basic way o improving the character of citizens. Biology, as an important part of fundamental education, undertakes the important task of improving the character of citizens.Cooperative learning stemmed from American in the early 1970s, and become a creative and useful teaching theory and tactics from the middle 1970s to the middle of 1980s.soon it became world concern and one of the leading teaching method and tactics for its bettering the social psychological atmosphere of class, improving the examination results. It is regarded as the most important and successful teaching reform in recent years.From late 1970s to the early of 1990s, cooperative learning has been studied and it achieved a lot. It was mentioned specially state concil's in decision about the reform and development of fundamental education pointing out encourage cooperative learning, improve the communication between students. From this we can see the government pay more attention to cooperative learning. Cooperative learning existed abroad for decades. But it is new in our country. Whether we can put it into effect lies in whether we can understand the essence of it.Cooperative learning regards mutual act as the main way to improve the students study, it is different from the traditional teaching, it is not only the mutual act between teachers and students, but also between teachers and teachers, students and students .It is proved by the facts that mutual act in cooperative learning is advanced. And that is also a development of the mutual act theory in modern education. This essay introduces the origin, the present situation, basic conception fundamental essential factors, and elaborate the basic theory of it. Social; inter-rely theory, selective theory development theory, refining theory touching theory. On he basis of this, we also discuss the ways and methods of put it into effect in the middle school. Research type. We know the different between cooperative learning and traditional group by summarizing and realize deeply that if we want the cooperative learning more effective. We must train the students' cooperative skill, let them know how to cooperative, mainly we should train their six skills. Then we should choose carefully about the content of cooperative learning. From my teaching experience I selected some chapters suitable for cooperative learning. In it, the role of teachers should be enforced, and the teacher should guide the students to study effectively, avoid make it in surface.So I engaged in the research and proactive of cooperative learning in order to better the teaching structure, improve the results of teaching.
